Key Exam Dates publishes application windows, deadlines and exam dates for 115+ Indian entrance examinations. Those dates are only worth anything if you can tell where they came from and how far to trust them. This page sets out exactly that.
What this site is
Key Exam Dates is an independent reference site. We are not an examination authority, a coaching institute, or an admissions consultancy. We are not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), JoSAA, or any other examining body or government organisation.
We do not conduct exams, process applications, or influence admissions. We collect what those bodies publish and present it in one place, in a consistent format, so you don't have to check sixty websites.
Where our dates come from
Every date on this site is taken from the official exam authority — its public notification, information brochure, or admissions portal. Nothing else counts as a source.
Each exam we list carries a link to the official website it was verified against, and that link appears on the exam's own page. If you want to confirm a date yourself, the primary source is one click away. We would rather you checked.
When a date hasn't been announced yet
Most of the year, some exams have not published their next cycle. When that is the case we say so. We do not estimate, project, or carry forward last year's date as though it were this year's.
An unannounced date is shown as To be announced. Alongside it we use a small fixed vocabulary, so the wording always means the same thing:
- To be announced — the authority has not published this date yet
- N/A — this field does not apply to this exam
- Varies — set individually, typically per institute or per session
- Rolling — applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, with no single deadline
- Discontinued — the exam is no longer conducted
This matters more than it sounds. An exam showing a live date reads as open for applications. Leaving a stale date in place would therefore be worse than showing nothing at all, so we don't do it.
Previous cycle dates
Where a season has not been announced, we often show the previous cycle's real dates underneath, clearly labelled — for example "2026 cycle: 12 Apr 2026".
This is a record of what happened last time, not a prediction of what will happen next time. It is there to give you a rough sense of when in the year to start paying attention. Exam authorities move their dates, sometimes by months. Do not plan around a previous-cycle date.
Checks before anything is published
Exam data is held in structured files and passes automated checks before it goes live:
- Schema validation — every record is checked for required fields, valid date formats and correct use of the vocabulary above. A file that fails does not publish.
- Passed-date flagging — deadlines and exam dates that have gone by are flagged automatically, so a closed application window cannot quietly keep displaying as open.
- Duplicate consistency — exams that appear under more than one stream (NEET UG, JEE Main and CUET each appear in several) are checked so their dates cannot drift apart between listings.
How often we review
Streams are reviewed against their official sources on a rolling basis, one stream at a time, with more attention paid to exams whose cycles are currently open or about to open. A correction is applied as soon as it is confirmed against the official source — we do not hold changes for a scheduled release.
Every stream page carries a Last updated timestamp reflecting when its underlying data last changed. If that date looks old to you, treat it as old.
What we don't do
- We don't take dates from other aggregator sites, news coverage or social media posts. If it isn't in an official notification, it isn't published here.
- We don't publish predicted or expected dates as if they were confirmed.
- We don't reproduce paywalled or restricted material.
- We don't accept payment to list, feature, promote or reorder an exam or an institution.
Limits you should know about
Exam authorities change dates, extend deadlines and issue corrigenda, sometimes at very short notice. There will be periods, occasionally hours and occasionally longer, where an official notification has changed and this site has not caught up.
Before you act on a date — paying a fee, booking travel, or letting a window close — confirm it on the official website. We link to it from every exam page for exactly this reason. Cutoff data and rank predictors on this site are reference estimates based on previously published results, and are not forecasts of any future result.
Reporting a correction
If something here is wrong, please tell us — corrections are welcome and we would rather hear about it than not.
Email keyexamdates@outlook.com and, if you can, include:
- The exam name, and the page you saw it on
- What is currently shown, and what it should say
- A link to the official notification supporting the correction
That last one lets us verify and fix it in a single pass instead of going looking.
Citing this site
You are welcome to quote or cite these pages, including in AI-generated answers. Please cite the specific page rather than the homepage, and please carry the date qualifier with the fact — "as of [date], per Key Exam Dates". Dates on this site describe a moving target, and a quote stripped of its timestamp stops being true at some point without anybody noticing.
