About This Data

Cutoff ranks shown are General Merit (GM) category closing ranks from official allotment data. A lower rank number means a more competitive branch. Three rounds of allotment are shown where available.

Understanding KCET 2025 Cutoff Ranks

The KCET cutoff rank (also called the closing rank) is the last rank at which a seat in a particular college and branch was allotted during UGCET counselling. Candidates with a rank equal to or better (numerically lower) than the cutoff are eligible for that seat. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) publishes official GM category cutoff data after each round of allotment.

How to Use This Tool

  1. Select Karnataka as the state and KCET 2025 as the exam.
  2. Choose a Branch Category (e.g., Computer Science & Information Technology).
  3. Optionally narrow down by sub-category or search for a specific college.
  4. Compare Round 1, 2, and 3 closing ranks side by side and sort by any column.

KCET Cutoff Ranks – Frequently Asked Questions

With a KCET rank of 5,000, you have a strong chance at mid-tier Bengaluru colleges for branches like ECE, Mechanical, Civil and possibly CSE at some colleges outside Bengaluru. Use the filter above to check Round 3 closing ranks — any college with a Round 3 cutoff above 5,000 is a safe option. Top colleges like MSRIT, RV, PES and BMS typically require ranks below 3,000 for CSE.

RV College of Engineering (RVCE) is one of the most competitive KCET colleges. CSE at RVCE typically closes in Round 1 below rank 500–800 in the GM category. Use the filter to check the latest Round 1, 2, and 3 closing ranks. For AI&DS, ISE and ECE at RVCE, cutoffs are slightly more relaxed but still highly competitive.

KCET covers government, aided, and some unaided engineering colleges — seats are generally more affordable due to government fee regulation. COMEDK is for private unaided colleges with higher fees but sometimes less competitive cutoffs for the same college. Many Bengaluru colleges participate in both. If you have both scores, compare cutoffs for your target college under both exams using the tabs above.

Karnataka uses category codes like GM (General Merit), 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B (OBC sub-categories), SC, ST and CAT-1. Each category has a separate cutoff, which is always numerically higher (less competitive) than GM. The data shown here is GM/OPEN category. Reserved category students typically have 20–50% more rank buffer at most colleges. Refer to KEA's official allotment data for category-wise cutoffs.

Yes. With a rank between 10,000–20,000, you can get CSE at several good colleges outside Bengaluru and ECE/ISE at mid-tier Bengaluru colleges. In Round 3, many colleges' CSE branches close above rank 15,000–25,000. Use the filter above to set Branch Category to "Computer Science & IT" and sort by Round 3 closing rank to see your full list of options.
